Committing to a single topic
A problem people often struggle with is staying on topic; especially during particularly long papers. Personally that was somewhat of a struggle for me when I wrote a 5000 word paper at the end of my senior high school year. I managed to stay on track by using different perspectives from which I would focus in on my topic and keep it related. The BBG book talks about how if the person isn’t interested in the topic they will probably not be invested in it so it will not be a good piece of work. Ill reference my paper again which was about electric vehicles being the preferred transportation in the future; this was a good topic for me since I was deeply invested and interested to see where the research would take me and so it led me to put more effort into the paper. Deadlines as mentioned in BBG are also a problem, for ENC 2135 I think deadlines will be even more problematic since it will be a short semester with more work going in at the same time so time management will be essential to a good paper. Sources can also affect the quality of the paper; if there are not enough sources due to lack of research the paper will have low quality.
